DR. MARY ROBINSON
Ed D, M.S.PC, M.S.Ed, M.A., CCGSO
Dr. Robinson earned a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in MD in 2004. Mary’s academic path includes an M.A. in Theology from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2022, Ed. D. in Higher Education from Morgan State University in 2011, an M.S. in Special Education from Coppin State University in 1999, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Barber-Scotia College in 1988. She embraces the Rogerian Theory Principles for Counseling, believing that “each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change.” Her Master’s exit paper and practicum focused on Seniors and Gambling: From extracurricular activities to responsible gambling. In 2019, she completed the Certification for Clergy Gambling Spiritual Outreach (CCGSO). She is a workshop facilitator for the Maryland Council on Problem Gambling (MCPG) virtual training and an MCPG Board Member. As a 2022 recipient of the MCPG Grant, Mary created a Kiosk of Gambling resources to provide access for people to retrieve educational literature on responsible gambling. She has facilitated workshops such as Using Zoom and Best Practices for Maryland Council Problem Gambling (MCPG), Crucial Conversations: Problem Gambling: Education, Resources; Recovery, and she has participated in Responsible Gambling Roundtable as a discussant.
